Cherokee County Divorce Records

Cherokee County divorce records are official documentation confirming a couple’s permanent change in marital status. These records include the initial filing documents, information identifying the parties involved in the case, and specific details about the divorce settlement, such as asset division and child custody arrangements.

Dissolution proceedings, including legal separation, annulment, and divorce, are under the jurisdiction of the Superior Court. The county’s Clerk of Court maintains records originating from these cases and accepts public requests for access. However, sealed cases and information regarding children may be restricted from public disclosure.

The clerk’s record retrieval methods include visiting the office at Suite G-170, 90 North Street to view or purchase copies, calling (678) 493-6523 for inquiries regarding access options, or using the case search portal.

Court staff allow members of the public to view case records for free on site. However, obtaining copies requires paying specific fees, which vary depending on whether requesters intend to order plain or certified documents.

Checks on the clerk’s case search system are free and only require users to provide a case number or party name. Site visitors may also add filing date ranges to filter results. The system displays names of case parties and their attorneys, filing dates for specific documents, and unofficial images of filed documents. Interested parties can also purchase the official versions of these documents through the portal.
